About

If you google  “Romania tourism” you will find 455.000 links, not as much as for France for example but still… So, what stands behind this blog?

First of all, the vast majority of the sites are written in Romanian, so, despite tourism being a “strategic” direction for Romania, the fact is that you will not find much info in English besides maybe offers and idyllic descriptions of our country. So this blog is meant to become the number one travel guide for you if you are looking for:

  • The real feel of Romania
  • The real people living in here
  • Hidden cultural treasures like traditions, cultural heritage, gastronomy
  • Hidden treasures for niche travelers with focus on  agro, adventure or cultural tourism
  • Where / when to go for city breaks
  • What to do when you’re in the neighbourhood
  • Where to stay when traveling in a particular area.
  • Tips for themed and sightseeing tours

The topics you will find here are the ones that I am looking for when I am travelling to your country:  the people, the places, the cultural heritage that define you and your country.

Last but not least – who am I?

My name is Mihai, I’m 25 and I’m passioned about discovering new things, new cultures, new people. My first trip outside Romania was 2 years ago, in Poland. For 6 days I experienced the Polish way of living by talking with / observing citizens, losing money to a chess master in the Central Park, ordering Polish food without knowing what it contained.

Last year I discovered Austria and the hostels: bless them because they exist!!   and this year Hungary is already booked. Although I’m not yet an experienced backpack traveller I certainly know what I am looking for. This blog is meant to mirror my interests and, the more you folks will enter, the more I know people like me exists. And this is a great thumbs up for me 🙂
